Synopsis
Anne Shirley is a freckle-faced, red-haired girl, who grows up in an orphanage having lost her parents at a very early age. It is 1907 on Prince Edward Island. An orphan, Anne Shirley is mistakenly sent there to Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert, a middle-aged brother and sister who had intended to adopt a boy to help them on their farm. Anne must make learn to live with the Cuthberts, in school, and in the town of Avonlea to make sure she is never sent back to the orphanage again.
